Definition: The part of the nephron that is responsible for altering the urine after it was filtered from the glomerulus. There are several different types of tubules:

One of the most important jobs of the renal tubule system is to recover many of the things that were too small to be filtered out and the body can’t afford to lose. Some of the tubules can also secrete many wastes/toxins that were not effectively filtered into the urine.
